Woodland Hills "NFL High"

George Novak, a highly respected name in Western Pennsylvania football. Head football coach and Athletic Director of Woodland Hill High School, Novak continues to produce NFL players ranging from a variety of positions. With a big list that includes a number of athletes from Hall of Famer Jason Taylor, Rob Gronkowski, Steve Breaston, Shawntae Spencer, and the list goes on and on.

Two former Woodland Hills players are playing on the New York Jets currently, how cool is that? Rontez Miles and Darrin Walls are DB's for the Jets defense who are proving why they are in the NFL.

These guys set great examples for people like myself, and for the upcoming students of Woodland Hills who see these guys as role models. If you do the right thing, do your homework, respect your parents and teachers, work hard on and off the field, then you can also be on this path to greatness.

This 2016 NFL draft consisted of two more Woodland Hills players that will be fighting for a roster spot this upcoming training camp. With the 147th pick of the NFL draft, the Seattle Seahawks draft the 6 '4 defensive end out of Maryland, Quinton Jefferson. The young man is a married father of 3 who has all the motivation in the world to perform to the best of his abilities on and off the field.

Also picked up as an undrafted free agent, corner back out of The University of Pittsburgh, Layfette Pitts. The speedster was signed to the Miami Dolphins where he will compete for a roster spot. Pitts has a lot of potential who can also play a variety of positions from corner back to punt returner.

Also fighting to make a team out of Woodland Hills. Defensive Tackle out of the University of Pittsburgh, Khaynin Mosley Smith. The DT has been trying out for a few teams including the Pittsburgh Steelers and hopes to make a roster spot for the upcoming training camp. These hard working guys deserve everything.

I had the pleasure of playing along side these athletes who always did the right thing on and off the field. When you come from Woodland Hills, it means a lot. Coach Novak always taught us the importance of family, doing your work in the classroom, and always doing the right thing off the field . It's up to us to decide where we want to go in life, take the low bridge or the high bridge, you can live a normal life, or you can live a life that is extraordinary.

To Achieve You Must Endure !
