Dallas Cowboys #1 in NFL Power Ranking

The 2017 NFL season thus far has been full of excitement, outstanding performances, upsets, and game winning plays. The 2017 NFL Superbowl will be held in Houston, Texas this year. Week after week, power rankings change as top contenders from last year, Carolina Panthers, fall to the bottom, and teams from the bottom rise to the top, prime example.....The Oakland Raiders.

These are the top power ranked teams in the NFL

#1 on the Power Ranking- Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys lead the NFL power rankings with an overall record of 9-1. Who would of thought with the injury to Dallas quarterback Tony Romo, that the Dallas Cowboys would do this well. Dak Prescott, the 23 year old rookie out of Mississippi State has lead this team to one the best seasons in team history.

Credit is given, when credit is due.....Tony Romo said it himself, “Dak Prescott, and what he’s done, he’s earned the right to be our quarterback,” Romo said. “As hard as that is for me to say, he’s earned that right. He’s guided our team to an 8-1 record, and that’s hard to do” (NFL, 2016). Dak possess the skill to hit targets with accuracy, and he has the ability to escape out of the pocket and run. His style of play is very similar to Seattle Seahawk's quarterback Russell Wilson.

Also making an impact with Dak Prescott, the 21 year old rookie running back of thee Ohio State, Ezekiel Elliott. "Zeke" as teammates refer him to, continues to put on impressive performances against the toughest NFL defenses as a rookie. Elliot currently leads the NFL in rushing with 1199 yards, and has the 2nd most rushing touchdowns trailing behind LeGarrette Blount.

Zeke is a rookie, and is already in the discussion for MVP for the 2017 NFL season.

#2 on the Power Ranking- Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks defense continues to rally behind their hybrid offense. The Seahawks are 7-2-1, as they are looking to win another Superbowl since winning it in the 2014 season.

Russell Wilson continues to be a dominate quarterback in this league with his ability to throw deep or rush on any play.

#3 on the Power Ranking- New England Patriots

Tom Brady continues to be the dominating quarterback that he always was. With the suspension he served in the beginning of the season, Brady is back on track and continues to light up NFL defenses. Brady has a large variety of offensive weapons to target from Julian Edelman, Rob Gronkowski, LeGarrette Blount, and Danny Amendola.

The Patriot defense also continue to dominate and make stops. If this defense can contain a opponent under 18 points, there is no question that the Patriot offense will win the game.

#4 on the Power Ranking- Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders are off to one the best seasons ever. With going 7-9 in the 2015 season, the Oakland Raiders have turned it around in 2016. Teammates and coaches have rallied behind quarterback David Carr, who is having an MVP type season thus far. The Oakland Raiders record mid way through the season is 8-2.

This Oakland Raider offense has been dominate all season with key receivers Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper. These receivers have been reliable targets for Carr. At the running back position Latavius Murray, who is a big physical back that is explosive and runs with a determine to score. No one expected the Oakland Raiders to do this well. Now they have the opportunity to make a run in this years playoffs.

There is still plenty of the 2016-17 NFL season to be played. Teams that are not doing too well can still push to make playoffs or wildcard.

My Prediction of the 2017 NFL Superbowl

Dallas Cowboys

vs.

New England Patriots / Pittsburgh Steelers
