I remember first seeing Wiz Khalifa's "Say Yeah" music video on MTV Jams in middle school, and now the rapper out of Pittsburgh, PA is one of the most popular artist today in hip-hop.
I was at a bar in Pittsburgh when Wiz Khalifa entered through the back and appeared on stage ready to perform. Wiz was popular in Pittsburgh but we did not know he would become the hip hop icon he is today. He has came a long way from making mixtapes in high school, to dropping his first album, and even creating his own group called Taylor Gang.
The bar was crowded and hot as I stood about 5 feet from Wiz and witnessed the young talent. Short Afro with a snap back on, tattoos everywhere as he performed "Ink My Whole Body". It was something great to witness because Wiz has made such a huge stride in hip hop as he continues to excel in the music industry today.
Wiz, who was raised in Pittsburgh, already had his songs on the radio as he was on the way to his senior prom at Taylor Allerdice High School. (This would later be known as one of his mixtapes). Another reason why I am such a huge Wiz fan is not just because of his good music but he also reps Pittsburgh like no other. The Pittsburgh Steelers also used Wiz Khalifa's hit "Black n Yellow" as a team anthem.
If you haven't listened to Wiz Khalifa's old mix tapes, you need too. I give Wiz full credit of smoking pot in music videos as being cool. Today, that is all you see in music videos, and you will hear Wiz speak about it in his mix tapes. He was doing it long before anyone thought it was cool and he wasn't scared to do it on stage. Mary Jane was the mojo that made Wiz Khalifa who he is today.

Some of his previous mix tapes before the big fame ....
Prince of the City
Prince of the City 2
Star Power
Flight School
How Fly
Burn After Rolling
Kush & OJ
Cabin Fever
Cabin Fever 2
Taylor Allerdice
28 Grams
The list goes on and on. I can't even imagine how much more money Wiz would have if he made his mix tapes into albums or even sold his mix tapes through online streaming. Wiz has inspired many other Pittsburgh rappers to overcome the adversity of Pittsburgh as artist continue to rise up such as Mac Miller, and Hardo.

Also for all my Wiz fans out there. Wiz has a interesting collection of his everyday lifestyle in videos called "Day Today".It takes you on a tour of his life and just how lavish these rappers can live on a daily basis. According to Celebrity Networth, Wiz Khalifa is estimated at a net worth of $45 million. The pot head smoker continues to rise in hip-hop through his diversity music.
