NBA Shoe Contracts

Lebron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Damian Lillard, James Harden...Just few of many NBA players who are taking full advantage of sponsored shoe contracts that are worth millions and perhaps billions of dollars in the future.

Today, athletes are the number one source for sponsorship due to America's hardcore passion for sports. The list of these athletes goes on and on. We will continue to see athletes shoes hit the shelves as the demand for bigger contracts will continue to increase by the year.

Lebron James, who has the most popular shoe in the NBA today has a mouth watering life time Nike contract estimated to be worth over $500 million. Long term, we can anticipate that Lebron will be the first athlete to possibly reach a billion dollar deal. The Cavalier has a large variety of Lebrons that are very popular on the shoe market. These shoes were designed to sell.

Kevin Durant is another sponsored athlete under Nike. The 6'11 shooter out of the Oklahoma City Thunder has signed a Nike contract worth $300 million. Durant's shoes are known as KD's and are also very popular in the shoe market. It seems that these athlete's shoes continue to get more creative with design and comfort.

James Harden, the Houston Rocket took a different route and decided to sign a contract with Adidas for $200 million. Harden's scoring abilities on the court has earned him a large contract off the court. I'd like to see Houston add some pieces to the team to help James get a ring! Harden went from being a scoring 6th man, to one of the best scorers in the NBA.

Damian Lillard, point guard for the Portland Trailblazers continues to impress the NBA with his skills even after not being selected to the 2016 NBA All-Star game. The guard has earned himself a contract with Adidas that is worth over $100 million. Lillard joins James Harden, and Derrick Rose on team Adidas as shoe companies try to keep up with the competition with Nike and Under Armor.

Stephen Curry, the two time MVP of the Golden State Warriors is headed on the same path as Lebron James' Nike contract. Curry has signed an contract extension with Under Armor through the 2024 season that could be worth up to $14 billion! What are these players going to do with all of this money? Personally, I never even looked in the direction of Under Armor until now.

The new designed shoes have been a success. Curry himself has raised sales for Under Armor over the past few years. It is amazing how one athlete can increase a brands popularity and sales by a huge margin. America loves sports, and fans will buy these shoes not only for fashion but to also support their favorite players.

Lebron James on average makes about $24 million annually. That is $2 million monthly, a weekly pay of $461,538 and a hourly wage of $11,538. Can you imagine what you would do with all of this money!? That is an amazing paycheck for the best player in the NBA. Can you say Cha-Ching!?....
