Some say it is exactly what the Lakers need, some say it will be a disaster. With the release of Byron Scott, Luke Walton takes over for the Los Angeles Lakers after a tremendous year with the Golden State Warriors as interim coach under Steve Kerr.
The Los Angeles Lakers, who's last few seasons who been rough due to injuries to mega star Kobe Bryant and the hiring and firing of coaches coming and going. The Lakers may be on to something by bringing a coach who is a previous 2 time winning champion Laker and played along side Kobe Bryant. Walton has the best resume for this position.

The Lakers have a lot of potential with their upcoming stars with Julius Randle, Jordan Clark, and recent first round draft pick D'Angelo Russell running the offense.

The Lakers have freed up a massive amount of cap space with the retirement of Kobe Bryant, who was making $25 million annually with the Los Angles Lakers. Walton will bring a Golden State Warrior type offense to the Los Angeles Lakers which is exactly what they need with the athleticism on the team.
The Los Angeles Lakers will look to attract a superstar with the absence of Kobe Bryant. One of many free agents they will seek to go after is Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant who is seeking to get a ring this year. The Thunder has the team and weapons to make it to the finals without question, but the question is can they use teamwork to win the finals? I feel that if the Thunder do not win this years finals, then Durant may be exploring in other areas for a fresh start. The Los Angeles Lakers will be willing to offer a LARGE amount of money to get Kevin Durant.
